Born in 1952 in Istanbul, Murat Gigin graduated in civil and construction engineering at University of Bradford in 1974, obtained a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from University of London in 1975, and obtained an ocean engineer diploma from University College London in 1976.

    Gigin began his career at Tekfen İnşaat in 1977 as a civil engineer for worksites in Kuwait. He returned to Istanbul in 1983 and worked as a coordinator in a Business Development Department and in several international projects. In 1986, he was assigned as Deputy Director General of Tekfen İnşaat. Between 1988 and 1998 Gigin worked as Director General of Tekfen, and until 2000 he served as member of Board of Directors in Tekfen Commitment Group companies. Murat Gigin became Tekfen Holding Chairman of Board of Directors and Executive Director in 2015.

    Gigin has been serving as Chairman of Group Companies Board of Directors and Executive Director at Viem Ticari ve Sanayi Yatırımları Ltd. Şti. Group Companies (Viem Ticari ve Sanayi Yatırımları Ltd. Şti.) since 1998 (Tekzen Ticaret ve Yatırım A.Ş., Agromak Makine İmalat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., Maxlines Maksimum Lojistik Hizmetleri A.Ş., Viem İletişim Yayıncılık Reklam Turizm Hizmetleri Yatırım Ticaret A.Ş., Ekozey Ekolojik ve Organik Tarım Gıda Hayvancılık ve Turizm Taşımacılık İthalat İhracat İnşaat Sanayi Ticaret A.Ş., İmbroz Tarım Hayvancılık Gıda Sanayi Turizm ve Ticaret Ltd. Şti., Galipoli Gıda Ürünleri Sanayi ve Ticaret Ltd. Sti., ENAT Endüstriyel Ağaç Tarımı Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş., and Temarı Gıda Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.), as well as Chairman of Board of Directors and Executive Director. Gigin is also Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of ANG Yatırım Holding A.Ş.

    Having taken part in several civil society organizations in the past, Gigin served as Chairman of the International Pipe Line & Offshore Contractors Association (IPLOCA), and he is still Member of TEMA Foundation’s Board of Trustees.


    Born in Ankara, Vahide Gigin received her undergraduate diploma from Istanbul University’s Faculty of Economics and worked with finance experts in England, Libya, and Kuwait. In 1983, Vahide Gigin returned to Turkey and directed Tekfen Holding’s Public Relations Department. She is still acting Assistant Member of the Board of Directors of TEKFEN Holding and a successful Member of Board of Directors of TEMA (Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, for Reforestation, and the Protection of Natural Habitats).
