TEKZEN had a say in the management of the European DIY Retailers Association – EDRA which represents home development retailers in the world. Murat Gigin, TEKZEN founding partner and Chairman of the Board of Directors, was elected to the Board of Directors of the Association, where Turkey is only represented by Tekzen.
Turkey’s first 100% national capital DIY store, Tekzen is continuing its rise in the country and in Europe. Last October it opened its second store in Romania in Plaza Mall, and it attracts attention with the cooperations it realized and responsibilities it undertook in Europe.
With the most widespread network of stores in Turkey, Tekzen reinforces its position among the players with a right of say in Europe by taking a seat in the Board of Directors of the European DIY Retailers Association – EDRA, which is one of the most influential bodies of the DIY store industry in Europe. EDRA was founded in 2002 by the BHB German and SPK French-based Unions of Retailers and Suppliers, which act in the home development and DIY industry. It gathers DIY store chains on a global scale under one roof and monitors daily developments, widespread application, and the latest training activities. Active with over 100 stores in more than 50 provinces in Turkey, plus 2 more stores in Romania, and 1 in Northern Iraq, Tekzen is honored to be among the respectable brands in Europe in 2015 when it will celebrate its 20th year.
EDRA’s most important function is to facilitate development and common-position taking among its European members, and it has managed to have a loud voice in Brussels on behalf of the home development industry. With 1.5 million employees in 18,700 stores and a total turnover of €208 billion, EDRA has become a global association.
Among EDRA member countries are the USA, Australia, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Austria, Portugal, Ireland, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Poland, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, Baltic countries, Kazakhstan, Peru, Chile, and South Africa.
