    Among the experienced players of the DIY store industry that is growing with increasing momentum in Turkey, Tekzen has begun to put into life the the growth targets it announced for the year 2015. Since its foundation, Tekzen began its journey with the target of reaching every province of Turkey, and it has a network of stores extending from Istanbul to Kars, from Muğla to Siirt… Tekzen continues to be a center of attraction for foreign investors in the DIY store industry, but there is news that several foreign investors are withdrawing from the Turkish market. Some brands are deciding to end their investments in Turkish market for good, whereas others are continuing their successful works with renewed faces so as to add motion to the industry. Turkey’s first 100% national capital DIY store chain, Tekzen, is continuing its progress at full speed with the advantage it has obtained in the market over a long period. With the fast development of the DIY industry, Tekzen has increased its product range in that direction, continued its close cooperation with suppliers of local capital and represented Turkey in European markets; it continues to share news of growth during the year and gives signs that the competition among pioneering actors in the industry will continue.

    TEKZEN TO OPEN IN CYPRUS IN MAY

    Stating that as Turkey’s 100% local capital, first DIY store chain, they will continue store openings both at home and abroad in the following months, member of the Board of Directors and Director General of Tekzen, Onur Mertoğlu said: “We want to add more stores to those in Romania and Iraq. This year we are aiming at opening 10 stores” and underlined that they will continue their assertive growth in the industry. Since 1995, Tekzen has been growing with the right targets and strategies by providing employment to the national economy and thousands of people taking fast and plain steps in the industry, and it is the only brand which holds the titles of “DIY store chain with largest sales area” and “Most widespread DIY store chain”…

    As of February 2015, we are continuing to serve in 51 provinces and 103 stores. In Turkey, Tekzen has some 200,000m2 of sales area; in line with its growth strategies, it is also mentioned as the first national brand to open a store in Romania. In 2013, Tekzen added the Northern Iraq/Erbil Royal Mall store to its investments abroad; in May 2015, it will add another investment abroad by opening its Cyprus store. In 2014 Murat Gigin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tekzen, was elected as a member of the Board of Directors of EDRA – European DIY Retailers Association and we began to play a more effective role in the European market; actually, we are the only brand from Turkey to be a member of this association.” Mertoğlu also stated that they would add a 5 million TL worth investment to the agenda in the field of technology and with the innovation that they follow they will obtain aggressive growth in the sales part of internet. Underlining the fact that despite such investments in the offline area, the developments in the online area were highly remarkable, Onur Mertoğlu says: “In addition to our store investments we will also invest some 5 million TL into technology. In 2015, we will grow aggressively in online retail. Today our business making models are rapidly shifting to the internet. We must not miss this.”
